Bio: | David is one of the founders of the Collaborative Practice movement in the State of California and has handled more than 250 Collaborative cases over the last 20 years. He has been certified as a Specialist in Family Law since 1980, the first year Family Lawyers were granted specialization status. He is rated as “A/V (Preeminent: 5.0 out of 5) ” by Martindale-Hubbell, an independent organization that has rated lawyers’ ethical standards and professional ability for over 115 years, and he has been identified as a “ Super Lawyer” in Northern California by Super Lawyers, an independent service rating lawyers’ professional achievement and peer recognition. David received his BA in 1962 and his JD in 1965, from the University of Minnesota. He has been in private practice for over 40 years and is licensed in California and Minnesota. His practice is devoted to Family Law and consultation to mental health professionals, and is limited to non-litigation dispute resolution: collaborative practice, mediation, and consultation. |
Other | David’s Collaborative participation and history include being: A charter member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) and former member of its Standards Committee [charged with drafting standards for Practitioners, trainers, and trainings in Collaborative Practice]. A founding Board Member of the statewide Collaborative Practice organization, “ Collaborative Practice California” (CP Cal).
