| Bio: | Since I began practicing in 2002, it has been clear that litigation does not meet the needs of most families. Families consistently fair better when they, with a little guidance, make the dissolution decisions on their own. As a CPSV attorney member and trained mediator I help families make their dissolution decisions using mediation and collaborative practice methods. Where litigation directs focus on the subjective and elusive ideals of fair or reasonable outcomes, mediation and collaborative practice direct focus on family-centered, family-directed outcomes that are intimately connected to each family’s real needs and priorities. Through mediation or collaborative practice I help families identify and voice their unique needs and priorities. Focusing information and guidance on their identified needs and priorities helps families design creative options and solutions connected to their unique needs and priorities. The ultimate decisions and agreements that they make are agreements they embrace for years to come. |
